Introducing Miss Kyu Yi - Our Duffy Player Keep your eye out for Kyu! (pronounced cue) She's our up and coming player representing the Duffy Rack. Kyu has been doing well in local tournaments here in San Antonio as well as tournaments all over Texas, including the Hunter tour. But she never had a coach like Duffy. As a lot of you probably know, Duffy coached Vivian Villarreal, The Texas Tornado, to number one Woman player in the world in 1994. Duffy is the best pool teacher I have ever run into and we expect great things from Kyu. Her game is on the major improve.
Kyu is the only thing from the Duffy Rack Co. not Made in USA! She was born in South Korea and immigrated with her family to the U.S. in 1980, residing in Los Angeles, where they still live today. She has knocked around pool rooms for 10 years, learning to play and becoming friends with several great players of the game, picking up tips along the way. She moved to San Antonio in 2003 to take a job as a lab technician, which she still does. It is our goal to free her from her job, so she can pursue full time her dream of playing on the Women's tour. Go Kyu!! |
